A Dragonfly’s Visit.

Look who came visiting our garden yesterday… a dragonfly!

He zoomed in, checked us out as we watered the flowers and then settled on K’s lantern to stay a while.

He rested for a long time and we were able to have a good look at his big eyes, his long iridescent body and his delicate wings.

When he was ready, he jetted about the garden a few times and then zipped away.

We don’t know why he came? There is no pond or river anywhere close for him to have come from and so we demised that the fairies had sent him to scout us out. They needed to know if we were really ‘believers’. Now that he has seen that we are, we are awaiting a tiny letter, posted in the Fairy Garden, inviting us to a fairy gathering. We are very excited and check the garden incessantly to see if it has arrived.

Oh gosh, what kind of gathering will it be? A tea-party, a ball, a wedding? We wait with anticipation!

  1. What a beautiful dragonfly! We see quite a few in the summer around here since there are so many streams nearby. My kids are always fascinated yet reserved around the dragonflies. I think they are just gorgeous. How nice that the fairies sent one to visit you!

  2. Word must be getting out, about that lovely garden you’ve provided for the fairies and their friends. :) That’s such a pretty picture.

  3. Oh how fun! We haven’t seen any dragonflies around us yet, but we are hoping we will soon. Kayla is pretty sure dragonflies and fairies are related because they look an awful lot alike. :)
