My friend hosted a baby shower a little while ago and I almost died when I saw the little cherry mice she had made. They were almost too adorable to eat… but don’t let their sweet looks stop you from popping them into your mouth… they are simply, outstandingly, delicious too!
The kids and I made these little guys for Valentine’s Day. Another plus… kids LOVE to help you make them :-)
All you need are cherries with their stalks still on, slivered almonds and chocolate kisses.
Pop a little bowl of chocolate kisses into the microwave and melt the chocolate, slowly… stirring ever 30 seconds.
Hold a cherry by the ‘tail’ and dip it into the chocolate so that half of the cherry is covered in the warm, melted, chocolate.
While the chocolate cherry is still warm and sticky, stick a chocolate kiss into the chocolate for the mouses nose.
Then stick on two slivered almonds for his ears…
Let the chocolate cool until it is set and Voila! you have the cutest little chocolate cherry mouse in the world… great for birthday parties, picnic’s and any special occasion :-)
