There is a special radiance that shines from my children when we are playing, free, in Nature. Their eyes sparkle, their cheeks flush… they smile. It’s beautiful!
Here’s a great article from the wonderful Richard Louv on kids and Nature.
WHY KIDS NEED NATURE

Discovering Waldorf is a weekly series of articles written by ‘everyday’ Waldorf families. The contributors to this series share their ‘real-life’ insights and inspirations on all kinds of Waldorf topics. This series is not meant to be Waldorf philosophy in its purest form, but rather a snapshot of how we can all incorporate Waldorf ideas into our lives to help nurture and encourage the magic that is in our children. If you have a topic you wish to learn more about (or want to share) on Discovering Waldorf please contact me.
Blessings and magic,
Donni

We loved offering our children a Waldorf-style home school experience. Our homestead grew organically, with nature most prominent, as a manifestation of our philosophy! In conjunction with attachment parenting, our children have grown to be highly competent, articulate, independent and successful people. I am so thankful to have learned about Rudolf Steiner and his philosophy of nurturing the soul of a child.
