Look what I’ve been up to… I’ve been working on felted owl mobiles for The Magic Onions Shop? I love them! They are so cute. They bring their special brand of woodland magic to any kids room. Kitty has a yellow one in her room and it looks utterly adorable.
Each owl sits on a real twig perch with a pretty little colorful balloon to add fun and whimsy to this magical mobile.
Owl mobiles in all shades and sizes can be purchased from The Magic Onions Shop.
And… in September, each order I receive in the shop will receive a special gift of a pack of 6 colorful felted acorns.
I’m also working on a line of woodland animal ornaments for Christmas. I’ll show you all when they are ready.
Having my shop at last is so much fun!
Blessings and magic,
Donni

I love your shop. The pumpkin felting kit is a lot of fun. And I loved the 6 acorns that came as a fun treat!
I am just learning to needle felt so I am still practicing, but I have made a few pumpkins already with the kit. I still have roving left to make more.
I do have a question, because I’ve had issues with there being holes in the wool after felting. Is there a particular way to deal with the holes to make the appearance smoother?
Hi Heather,
Thanks for the kinds words… I’m glad you are having so much fun felting.
I know what you are talking about when you say you leave holes. It might help if you fluff the outside of your pumpkin just a little, to loosen the fibers and cover the holes. Then, to neaten it up a little, felt the fluffy parts with your needle ever so gently, inserting only the tip of the needle into the surface of the wool. I felt very gently during the finish stages. At the beginning, I insert the needle deep into the wool (and this leaves holes) but ease up at the end when I want a smooth finish. Let me know if this works for you.
Happy felting :-)

I love the nailpolish. Great pic. You really know how to use the left side of your brain.
