52 Weeks in Nature : Week 3

Each week I feature a photo, or a series of photos, that showcase what is happening in nature around us… something that we have found particularly enchanting. At the end of the year, we will have 52 weeks of seasonal beauty.

I’m excited for this project for two reasons.

One, it goes hand in hand with my resolution to be mindful of all the tiny little things that make nature so magical. I want to ensure we explore the beauty of nature each and every week.

Two, I am fascinated at how different the same season is from place to place and I hope you’ll join me in this weekly meme so that we can see the amazing things that Mother Nature is doing in your area.

If you participate, please leave a link to your site in the comments below so that we can all see your beauty in nature.

Week 3/52

My Good Man and I hiked together… just the two of us, which is rare indeed. The Californian countryside was spectacularly beautiful. We held hands. We drank in the cool, fresh air and we agreed with the trees that BEing in nature is a wonderful thing.

I hope you join me in recording 52 weeks in Nature.

  1. Looks like you are having some lovely weather there! Part of why we have not been getting out as much is that up here, we have very short days during the winter. It seems like every time we get ready to go out, it is already dark. The other day, however, it was a clear night, which is unusual in itself here, but there was also a full moon. My daughter is fascinated by the moon, so we spent some time outdoors enjoying the full moon, thus my nature photo is of the moon – http://www.bluebellsandcockleshells.com/2014/01/52-weeks-in-nature-352-full-moon.html .

    1. Wow, Maureen… what a stunning photo of the full moon!!! How lovely that you were able to enjoy it together.
Yes, it’s been crazy hot here. It’s hard to believe it’s winter. We are going on a hike tomorrow with a wonderful naturalist and the hike theme is ‘Winter is Spring in Southern California’.
      Love Donni
