52 Weeks in Nature : Week 18

The desert canyons are full of this little yellow wildflower.

They bob their sunny heads happily in the spring breeze.

The beauty of the desert canyons continues to amaze me.

If you’d asked me 20 year ago if I thought that the desert was beautiful, I would have struggled to say yes. Then, only green could be beautiful.

But today, I am awed by the diversity and ever changing nature of the wild places around us. Their beauty stuns me.

It empathizes (once again) how our spirits evolve and grow as we let them free into the expanse of BEing. So much is beautiful … it is our CHOICE to see miracles everywhere.

    1. Oh gosh, Sibyl… how I love wisteria. When we bought our very first home it was wintertime. There was a very sweet little wooden shed in the back yard… but it was COVERED in a dead vine. If we had not been lazy, we would have cut that ‘dead’ vine off the pretty shed… well, lucky we were lazy!! As Spring breathed her breath on our yard, that ‘dead’ vine started to sprout purple flowers and before long, your shed was a fragrant splash of purple wisteria. A robin made his nest in the low vines and we had the added gift of watching his eggs hatch. That was my first experience with wisteria :-)
