Sometimes it’s hard to believe that my little girl is already 11.
And other times, like this, it’s hard to believe that she’s ONLY 11.
I marvel in awe as I watch her artistic talent and skill unfold.
She is devoted to her art. She draws and paints at every opportunity… for hours and hours. She sits quietly ,working, exploring, developing.
She’s lucky that her school is such an artistic environment and art and drawing form part of each and every lesson. She has an amazing art teacher and she also practices for hours on her own, drawing from photographs or watching art tutorials online.
Although I’ve never been very skilled at drawing or painting, I have made sure that art and creativity has been a part of our daily lives from the moment Kitty was born.
Now, seeing the seed of potential she nurtures within her, and her immense love for it, I’m so grateful for those early days when we made fairy gardens, leaf gnomes and rainbow stones together. All of it has taught her that she is a creator of beautiful things.
Just look at her go…
I have framed her little gnomes and know I will treasure them forever.
And Teddy loves art too, although I think music is more his thing.
Blessings and magic,
Donni

What a nice picture!
Rien Poortvliet is my favorit artist. She capture his little gnomes very well
Thanks, Pat… she’s so inspired by them. It’s such an honor to see a child’s spark ignited.

And to think she couldn’t abide getting her hands messy with paint when she was little. If she painted at all she used one of those very long brushes and held it at the end.
I know… but remember her Cinderella when she was 2 :)
