New Needle Felting! - The Magic Onions

New Needle Felting!

Here is what I have been working on. She is Mother Spring and she is pregnant with all the new life spring brings.

I was SO excited when my new wool roving order arrived this week. I went for the eco-wool in natural colours and was delighted at what arrived… the colours are all so soft and gentle. Her dress colour is a colour called ‘butter’, isn’t that a lovely name for it.
Her shawl is made from my rainbow roving and it actually makes her look warm!
I have put her on my Etsy shop… reluctantly, as I love her (note to self: remember… can’t hold onto everything! Must set free to make room for creativity to grow… So hard!)

It has been raining for the past couple of days but it was so hot before, 80’s, that the poor trees have become all confused, thought it was spring… they have sent out their blossoms already. It sure is beautiful!
My breakfast is ready… A Good Man has cooked a delicious smelling omelet; I smell bacon, cilantro (coriander) and feta… Yum!

  5. Thank you all so much… I must admit I feel amazed at what comes forth from the wool. I have always felt creative but have never found a medium; never been good enough to be somewhat happy with what I have created. I have tried to paint but have no talent, tried to sew but have no patience, tried to make metal sculptures but am a bit of a ninny when it comes to hard physical work. I am so excited to have found needle felting… I can actually make something that I don’t want to scrunch up and throw away with disappointment when it’s done. Thank you for your kind words of encouragement.

  6. What an amazing, beautiful talent you have! I’ve done enough felting to know its not easy, recognize that you have quite a gift. Mother Spring is so pretty.

  7. Thank you Dawn and other friends, your encouragement is really building my confidence.

  8. If found your blog by way of 5 Orange Potatoes and I am so glad I did. Your Mother Spring is stunning. I am going to hop over to your Etsy shop next.
