Lemonade. - The Magic Onions

Lemonade.

We made lemonade today.

We squished two lemons, not letting their skins break,  so that they released their juice inside.

Then we cut them in half and tried to see who could squeeze THE MOST lemon juice into the bowl.

We strained the juice into our jug.
We added half a cup of boiling water to three quarters of a cup of sugar and stirred until the sugar was dissolved.
We added the cooled sugar water to our jug and then added water to taste. And then ice, of course!
Voila… cool lemonade.
The verdict… Delicious!!

Mr T enjoyed it SO much that he drank…
And he drank… and at last, issued a resounding, ‘NUM!’

I can imagine a lovely cool glass of our lemonade would go very nicely in these settings.
Blessings and magic.

  1. So cute! You do a great job involving your kids in activities.

  2. To be truly American K&T should put a box on the sidewalk and sell lemonade for 50c. I’d buy because it looks delish.

  3. Yum…you’re making me thirsty! ;)

  4. So sweet! Lemonade is sold from little stands in the UK as well, but only in those rare days where the weather is relatively warm! And it’s £2.50 instead of 50c!!!! Ciao. Antonella

  5. Yummy-nothing like lemonade on a summer day! Hot chocolate would be more appropriate here today.:(

  6. Lovely. That’s the only type of lemonade I knew as a child. Now I make it with my girls and they love it as well. So much more enjoyable when they’ve made it themselves.

  7. I love it! My girls are obsessed with making lemonade and mixing it with any herbs they have in their little hands at the time. Lemons and their sunny yellow color just scream summertime!

  8. What a gorgeous banner!!
We have been quite addicted to making lemonade from the River Cottage Family cookbook this summer. Squishing the lemons is the best part!

  9. Nothing is more perfect in summer than a glass of lemonade (especially homemade!) I’d be happy to enjoy a glass in one of those settings too :) Thanks for the link love.
