What is this trail,
this pathway I see?
It looks like magic
has been here to me.
It’s silvery white
and it came from the night
and it leads all around
though I heard not a sound.
They are footprints, think I.
From the gnomes passing bye
as they rode on their silvery steeds.
With reins made of silk
as befitting their ilk
they performed, oh, such magical deeds!

Isn’t he gorgeous, this gnome riding a snail! He was made by Sycamore Moon over at Felt Musings of Sycamore Moon Studios. Her felt work is magical and on display in her Etsy shop here.
Blessings and magic.

PS Love the little toes by the snail trail. Just the perfect representation of summer! :)
I love this poem! Beautiful, felted gnome…
That’s so cute…the poem and the felty. There’s instructions for making a felt finger puppet snail in the current issue of Living Crafts that I’ve been thinking of trying. Now I definitely will! :)
That is a gorgeous little gnome riding the snail! I love your poem…so sweet. :)
It’s so neat to read of someone seeing the trails left by a snail in a positive light. <3 Such a sweet poem and beautiful gnome on the snail! <3
Blessings and magic is right, your post contained both!
Yes, thanks for reminding me of the sweetness and beauty in what i normally grumble about as a sign that the garden is being chewed to bits!
that Snail Rider is absolutely adorable.
I love the magic and the whimsy I find here…
I love that little guy! Would comment more, but HAVE to get over to that shop and check it all out!

I just wanted to let you know that I nominated you for a watermelon award :) I so enjoy your blog! Your post are truly inspiring! I wasnt sure how else to share this award with you so I hope it ok to post this here : )
You can cut and paste from my blog and then just list 6 things that make you happy and pass the award on to 6 more bloggers. Don’t forget to put the melon on your blog, as well! You can list it as an award on the side now, too.
If you don’t have time to do this, please let me know so I can nominate someone else :)
What a lovely poem. Silver threads shining in the early morning sun certainly is magical. At last I know who makes them.
Beautiful poem D!!!!
