Make a Mossy Valentine’s Wreath.

Don’t you just LOVE moss? I do!! So, because I LOVE moss so much, I thought it would be fun to make a mossy wreath for Valentine’s Day. Mr T helped me.
Moss wreath for Valentine's Day
We needed:
* a heart shaped wreath (vine, polystyrene or make your own from foam)
* glue
* dried moss (found at craft stores)
*ribbon
*scissors
*a drawing pin

Begin by squeezing copious amounts of glue over the wreath frame.

Supplies needed to make our mossy heart wreath for Valentine's DayAsk a little boy to spread the glue evenly using a stick.
Moss wreath for Valentine's DayBreak the moss into small bits and stick it onto the gluey heart frame.
Make sure all sides become covered in moss.
Where parts of the frame still show, add little blobs of glue and then cover with moss.
When the whole heart frame is covered in moss, let the glue dry in the sun.
When the glue is dry and the moss is stuck fast, ask a little girl to trim the moss. Trim off all the straggly bits, maintaining the heart shape.
Tie the ribbon into a bow.
Use the drawing pin to secure the hanging ribbon onto the mossy heart wreath.
Hang up your pretty mossy wreath for Valentine’s Day.

Blessings and magic.

  1. Another wonderful craft some children and a Mama can make together! One of the challenges of designing crafts for children is working with their different levels of coordination and ability…and you’re great at it. Beth

  2. Love the wreath! It is just perfect for little boys who have no interest in all the fabric and ruffles circulating on the web right now. Thanks for posting!

  3. I remember evan as a kid loving the patches of soft bouncy moss in little patches of shade in the forest. I always imagined a bed of moss to curl up in. Love the moss heart!

  4. Very pretty and inspiring! I think this wreath would look lovely, not only as a heart wreath but a round one, with a little bird nest tucked in it. Your instructions are very clear. I think your little helpers are adorable!

  5. Great tutorial. My 4 year old and I made one for her grandmother who lives local.
email me if you’d like to see the photos of it.
We couldn’t find the flat heart so we used a rounded heart. It turned out really well. Thank you so much for the tutorial.
