Oh, the luck of it!! The utter good fortune!! You won’t believe it, we hardly can! Hold your breath – We. Were. Invited. To. The. Fairy. Ball! Oh, the excitement!
We dressed up in our Sunday Bests and followed the magical fairy invitation… down the path, over the stream, under the Weeping Willow, over the stepping stones and, finally we found them, in a clearing, surrounded by toadstools.
There was Lilac, in her purple scented splendor.

And Sea Pink, in her frilly frock.
Wild Strawberry looked dashing indeed, in his scarlet jacket and green tunic.
Little Welsh Onion looked lovely in her white shift.
Daffodil shone in her golden gown.
Handsome Aster twirled magnificently in his fluffy collar.
While crimson Camellia sat with perfect poise.
Playful blossom giggled naughtily.

And was told rather sternly by Mother Rose to mind her manners!

But our favorite of all was this blue and silver gentleman, rugged and strong. He was terribly mysterious, though, and vanished before we could find out his name… perhaps you might know it?
What a wonderful Spring celebration it was… such pretty fairies all around. Who, prey tell, is your favorite from the ball?
Blessings and magic.

    Beautiful ball! Very lucky family!

  4. Ah, yes, that is borage. A wonderful plant to have around. A favorite of bees and all sorts of pollinators. A great partner to strawberries. Can be used medicinally as well as an edible. A self-seeding annual.

  5. What fabulous pictures! i wish we had so many flowers blooming here! Just starting to see daffodils and Glory of the snow.

Your last photo is indeed borage. i had to pull a bunch of mine out last year because it invaded my strawberry bed. i do hope it reseeds again though. :)
