We sing this blessing before we eat our dinner, as I know lots of Waldorf families around the world do as well… holding hands in a circle of family togetherness and love…
For the golden corn,
For the golden corn,
For the apples in the trees,
For the golden butter,
For the honey for our tea,
For fruits and nuts and berries
that grow along the way,
Dear Father Sun and Mother Earth,
We give our thanks this day
Blessings on our food.
*two little things I want to note for posterity; Teddy sings ‘For honey for our teeth‘ and then says ‘Blessings on our snack’ instead of ‘food’ – oh how I love his shcool :-)
Here’s a link to the newest blog post from the Maple Village School’s Blog… “The Grades Are Open!”
Blessings and magic,

My little guys sing this too at their respective ‘schools’ (they’re aged 3 & 5).
At the end of this same verse, they say “Blessings on our meal, Love in our hearts and Peace upon the earth”. My heart melts every time they choose (instead of our own created family verse) to repeat the same, at our own meal times ღ
Here is a lovely Steiner blessing a friend made and framed for me which is now above our nature table
