On Saturday, our Maple Village Waldorf School had the most delightful Harvest Faire. It was such a magical experience for the children as they toured the interactive Medieval Village put on by the families of the school. The village had a peasant farmer, a miller, a baker, a candle maker, a blacksmith, Gemfolk, a spinner, wise women and a wizard. Each villager showed the children his or her craft… the baker kneaded bread and baked muffins with them, the gemfolk mined with them for gemstones and the candle maker helped the children to make wonderfully aromatic beeswax candles. My kids came home with a bag full of goodies and a heart brimming with joy.
There was an archery range for shooting bows and arrows, lots of wonderful crafts to make, a village store and the yummy village cafe that served wholesome homemade soup and pie.
I came home with deep gratitude for this beautiful community. Thank you for nourishing my family and giving us such a strong sense of belonging.
Here are some photos from our magical day :
Blessings and magic,
Donni
