I want to record some of Kitty’s recent drawings for prosperity. She continues to amaze me -her raw talent… but also the amount of work she puts into her art. She draws for hours each day; she practices endlessly. The ipad has been marvelous for her as it allows her to research a subject matter in great detail. She will search for just the right pose, the skeletal structure, the right background… the ipad is a library at her fingertips. She saves up her weekly pocket money to purchase drawing supplies… pencils, charcoal, erasers, watercolor pencils. Her dedication to her art swells my chest with pride. She’s only 9.
Kitty, my darling, you have a gift and a passion and I know the world will be a more beautiful place for the magic you will share.

What a talented artist – it is obvious that patience and perseverance and passion are combining beautifully!
There is such magic and wonder in having an artist child. These drawings are beautiful. I love her passion.

We have a drawing contest for children under 13 years on our website http://www.spanishands.com/concursos.do. They must send a drawing of a craftsman working in his job. Our webpage wants to be more than a simple storefront to sell craftwork. It wants to contribute to a wider knowledge of our trades so that the labor of the craftsperson is not lost in mankind´s collective memory. So that they ask themselves questions such as: what is a craftsperson? What is his or her trade?. To help them, we have a video in the section HOW ITS MADE, “…artesanía. Oficios Tradicionales”, http://www.spanishands.com/videos.do , where they can see a short summary of craftsmen/women working at different trades.
Contest rules can be found at http://www.spanishands.com/concursos.do. The winner will receive a 50 euro voucher which can be used to purchase online goods; the prize winner is chosen by popular vote. The child´s drawing can be scanned and sent by email or sent by post to Asociación Diseño Propio.
I hope this will be interesting to Kitty, we love to receive a wonderful drawing of her.
