52 Weeks in Nature : Week 4 - The Magic Onions

52 Weeks in Nature : Week 4

Fifty Two weeks in nature… a series of photos each week to show what our nature looks like. For those who are participating, thank you… it’s been amazing to see how different the seasons are from place to place… and how beautiful.

These are the colors of Southern California right now. It’s taken me a while to love them, many years, in fact. I preferred the lush green of other places but these browns and grays and yellows have grown on me.  “The landscape belongs to the person who looks at it…” – Ralph Waldo Emerson”

Each week we feature a photo, or a series of photos, that showcase what is happening in nature around us… something that we have found particularly enchanting. At the end of the year, we will have 52 weeks of seasonal beauty.

I hope you’ll participate in 52 Weeks in Nature and leave a link to your site in the comments below so that we can all see the beauty you have found.

  1. Cacti in February! You definitely live in a different climate than I do! I used to live in San Diego, but we did not have so many cacti around us. This week, I found a crocus just trying to pop through the soil. Hopefully it wasn’t been overly eager and won’t end up getting snowed on next week! http://www.bluebellsandcockleshells.com/2014/01/52-weeks-in-nature-352-spring-approaches.html
