Felted Garlands for Valentine’s Day

I’ve been making some new felted garlands for the shop… all VERY romantic!  This is what my room looks like at the moment… ready for Luvvvvv!

I’ve been playing around with the sizes and spacings of the felted balls. Some are made with large balls (2 inches in diameter) some with the smaller balls (1 inch in diameter) all strung together with no spaces in between and some with lovely felted hearts. I can’t tell you how gorgeous they look, hanging on my wall… they could be hanging on your wall too. All are available from The Magic Onions Shop.

Which is your favorite combination?

  1. I like the solid strand, but the hearts are sweet!. How do you make so many of them and so uniform? I made some it my children this past week and ours are all different sizes and it took all day to make about 30 of them. We had fun making up stories, but it did take a long time!

    1. HI Emma,
They took forever to make when I first started making felted balls.. now, I have made so many that I do it almost in my sleep… I’ve learned little tricks along the way, like rolling the wool into a very tight spiral and needle felting the balls before I use water and soap and elbow grease.

  2. Hi Donni,
For this valentine, I am planning to do something special for my wife so that she should feel that how special she is in my life. I have planned everything for flowers, I will be making chocolate dishes, I will also be taking her out for dinner at her favorite place which is http://www.efyc.com.au/valentines-day-friday-14th-feb/. I am thinking of doing something with the house which could stay for long and when she looks at it, she should feel the love that I have for her. Is this very hard to create as Emma is saying that she took a whole day to create this. Can you please guide me on it, because this whole idea just looked perfect to me.

    1. Hi Peter, what a lucky lady!
If you are new to felting, this project will take quite some time. It’s fun, though and I’m sure she’ll hugely appreciate the love she can clearly see has gone into her gift.
      Here’s to love.
      Blessings and magic,
      Donni
