Fifty Two weeks in nature… a series of photos each week to show what our nature looks like. For those who are participating, thank you… it’s been amazing to see how different the seasons are from place to place… and how beautiful.
Week 15 / 52
Our first poppy has burst from her hairy pod and we are so very excited to see her. It’s been impossible to grow anything as the bunnies eat every tiny little shoot they see. But, last weekend, My Good Man built us a raised garden, too high for the bunnies to jump into and here is our first flower in a very long time. Isn’t she magnificent!
The children and I have marveled at how her delicate petals are still creased from being confined in her pod but, by this afternoon, I bet they’ll be smooth like cream.
I hope you’ll participate in 52 Weeks in Nature and leave a link to your site in the comments below so that we can all see the beauty you have found.

Raised beds are so nice. We even have bunny visitors to our yard, but they never get in our beds. I love poppies of all types! They are so beautiful! My poppies aren’t anywhere near ready to bloom yet, but I’m eagerly awaiting them. I do have some tulips this week though – http://www.bluebellsandcockleshells.com/2014/04/52-weeks-in-nature-week-15-tulip-time.html.
What a beautiful color, Maureen!!

What a beautiful colour of poppy – I’ve not seen one that colour for a while!
I’m late (again) joining in with week 15 – we’ve just been so very busy here it’s been hard to find the time to sit down and get the blog post done!
