52 Weeks in Nature : Week 28 - The Magic Onions

52 Weeks in Nature : Week 28

We love the weather here in June and July.

The mornings are cool from the misty marine layer that comes in during the night.

By 11am, the mist has burnt off and the days are the best kind of hot… in the 80’s and perfect for the beach.

We’ve been walking around the lagoon before the marine layer has gone, drinking in the coolness before the heat of the day sets in.

Moose goes for a swim and there are always treasures to be found…

Fifty Two weeks in nature is a series of photos each week to show what our nature looks like. For those who are participating, thank you… it’s been amazing to see how different the seasons are from place to place… and how beautiful.

I hope you’ll participate in 52 Weeks in Nature and leave a link to your site in the comments below so that we can all see the beauty you have found. Please don’t feel you need to participate each and every week… when you can is more than enough.

  1. Wonderful pictures! Such a sense of tranquility.

We went to the local State Park this week, it was stormy, but so much fun!

  2. Wow! It’s greener there than it is here in Seattle! We may actually be moving back to CA soon. I don’t want to, but there were major layoffs here yesterday. So the job market isn’t exactly uplifting. I’ve got some photos of some our rudbeckias this week. We never had them in Southern California, so I’m a bit obsessed with them. I love that they just start to bloom when every thing else starts dying from the summer heat.

    • Hi Maureen, funny I picked some growing in our alleyway. They are in a bud vase on the table now :-) So lovey.
It takes some getting used to but SoCal can be a wonderful place too. Sometimes we have to go where the wind blows us and trust that the universe knows what she is doing :-)

  3. Love these pictures, the first one has such a calm quality to it. We have been having storms here in the UK, see my post for my attempt to photograph them http://sibylnutmeg.co.uk/52-weeks-nature-3/

  4. As ever, I’m playing catch-up! So busy with the move and holidays!

What are the pink flowers you’ve photographed? They’re really pretty :)

Anyway, here are some pics from us, from July. We’re just learning about the countryside around our new house: http://ninnynoodlenoo.com/52-weeks-of-nature-through-july/
