Today is Veteran’s Day.

Thank you to all those brave people who have fought for life and liberty. My gratitude transcends time and space and touches you, wherever you are.

This is my veteran grandfather, holding a little me. He fought in World War II.

His survival is an amazing story : read it HERE.

Grandfather

In deep gratitude,

Blessings and magic,

  1. What a lovely post and story. I am a Canadian military wife, married x almost 9 years/together x 10. My husband has been on countless deployments, and is currently deployed (gone 12 weeks now). His longest absence was 7 months and I can’t imagine what your grandmother must have underwent with her husband deployed for years, and with him being a POW — so much stress and uncertainty! In some ways I feel very fortunate for technology in that my husband is able to communicate with me and our three kiddies often. On the other hand, sometimes ignorance is bliss! Thank you for sharing this wonderful tribute.

    1. Hi Carrie. Thank you for writing. I admire military wives so much and know it must be so difficult to be a single parent when your man is away keeping us all safe… it’s selfless and I think your whole family from the bottom of my heart.
