On Friday evenings, My Good Man and Teddy go to soccer practice and Kitty and I have fallen into the lovely routine spending some time together, just the two of us.
We wander around a park, admiring the flowers and then find a little low-key restaurant that has food we both love. We chose Italian this time… Kitty ordering the Alfredo and me, the bruschetta… so wonderfully tasty.
Afterwards we went to our favorite Gelato cafe… chocolate, coffee and lemon for me. Nutella, Nutella and Nutella for Kitty.
This time together is a gift. We are moving into a new era, her and me. I’m no longer quite the Queen of Hearts and she, my Alice. Our relationship is changing and I’m conscious of needing to step back to let her blossom. I know I need to ‘hold the space’ for her still, but I also need to let her be free to see her grow.
I’m so grateful to be her parent and thank my lucky stars every day that she chose me.
