Kitty and I love going to antique fairs together. Dad and Teddy opt to go surfing instead.
We are lucky to have some super antique markets in our area. We wander around looking at all the gorgeous goodies.
Kitty never fails to find a ‘just-what-she-was-looking-for’ Breyer horse and I have a penchant for chandeliers.
These photos are from the Long Beach Antique Market in California that is held every third Sunday of the month. It was the hottest day but that didn’t deter this mother and daughter thrift duo.
We love making up stories of the previous lives of the interesting things we see. Kitty found a Breyer horse that was the exact style that I got from Father Christmas when visited Boston from South Africa as an unaccompanied minor when I was 11 years old. It was poignant for Kitty as she is 11 and the thought of traveling for 37 hours to the other side of the world, ALL-ON-HER-OWN, was utterly unimaginable for her. And for me too… sending her off all on her own for such a long journey. Wow… my parents were brave and trusted the world far more than we do. What a shame as it was a life-changing trip for me.
Some treasures, huh!
Blessings and magic,
