Feeding Her Majesty is such a popular event in The Sunny House that we have had to draw straws to see that we all get a fair and equal chance.
We feed her special baby hummingbird mix from a dropper. She is too sweet. She chirps when she gets hungry and gets so excited when the dropper comes near her. She sticks her long tongue into the dropper tube and licks up the liquid.
Kitty takes her out into the garden often to have honeysuckle. We want to teach her that food comes from a flower too.
And we want her to hear the sounds of nature and hear the other hummingbirds as they dart around.
You can see her long tongue here.
It’s quite the sweetest thing when she starts to clean herself on your hand.
We know our time with Her Majesty is coming to an end and are cherishing every moment with this sweet little being.
More photos soon.
Blessings and magic,
Donni

You people are saints to spend as much time as you have feeding a little orphan bird. God bless you!
Thank you for your kind words, Jeanie :) The funny thing is that we fought over whose turn it was to feed her, lol… she’s such a delightful little thing.

Oh how wonderful! I didn’t know you had a baby hummingbird to raise. The love name. Hope all goes well for her as she grows up and eventually fledges.
