Tis the season to be jolly!
We made some beautiful cranberry heart ornaments today with Christmas music ‘jollying’ us along. They look so pretty on our rustic tree.
Teddy and I made them while Kitty made us hot chocolate with her famous recipe… 2 cups of milk, one cup of cream and half a cup of chocolate chips… melted and gently warmed in a pot on the stove.
Let me share our DIY tutorial with you so that you can make some for your own tree.
Materials ::
- fresh cranberries
- thin wire
- Christmas ribbon
- Christmas cheer
Method ::
Cut a length of wire about 8 or 9 inches long.
Thread the wire through the fresh cranberries.
When the wire is threaded completely with cranberries, shape it into a heart and stick the ends of each side of the wire heart into a last cranberry to complete the heart shape.
Tie it with a pretty bow to hand and admire your creativity.
We got to thinking that a garland of cranberry hearts would look wonderful too.
If you LOVE these ornaments but are not the crafting type, you can purchase similar ornaments in The Magic Onions Shop… in the Christmas Ornament section.

This is just what I needed thank you! I think I’ll do this with my homeschool group and have the children finger knit a loop for hanging it. ~Helen
