Every once-in-a-while, my friend Cathrine and I set off on an adventure. We go ‘antiquing’… peppered here and there with coffee stops and fine dining. It’s so much fun!!
New England is teeming with antique shops… ranging from cute little curated vintage stores to barns full of ‘old junk’. We find treasures galore. So many that we are dreaming of opening our own antique store… ha ha… we laugh at the prospect of going shopping in antique shops to stock our own antique shop. But what is one to do with all the treasure one finds?
Our last adventure took us to Vermont on a gorgeously sunny summers day.
I showed restraint and came home with a pair a wonderful baroque candlesticks, adorned with birds and leaves and strawberries. I’ll show you a photo of them when I find the right spot for them in my home. And also the coolest wooden bread bowl (I have a penchant for these!). You can see it in the third photo… it’s the 4th bowl in the stack, with the rounded edges. It’s these rounded edges I love… so unusual in a vintage wooden bread bowl. Catherine filled my car with flowers in vintage cans and our trip home was so wonderfully fragrant.
My only regret is leaving behind the big vintage butterfly print. In fact, I’m saving up my pocket money to go back in August and claim her… she better be there!
Look at all the glorious goodies to be found…
I can’t wait for our next outing. Cathrine, lets go soon!
Blessings and magic,
Donni

Thanks, Claudia! There are so many gorgeous goodies around here… it’s a vintage lover’s dream :)
I am a great fan of vintage shopping but I am also a great fan of Fairy Gardens. Will there be a Fairy Garden Contest this year?
Thank you!
Candy
Me too, Claudia. Your sentence didn’t finish… are you asking about the fairy garden contest? We will resume our contest in Spring next year :)
