It’s Spring Break.
And I’m so happy to report that Spring has finally sprung! At this moment, I’m actually sitting in a ray of sunshine and the warmth seeping into my body feels sooooo goooood! Yay!!
A couple of days ago, Kitty and I decided to throw caution to the wind and set out on an impromptu adventure. We escaped to Providence, RI, for a night… to explore, shop and eat yummy food. We weren’t disappointed by this eclectic lil city… Providence is a gorgeous! Notwithstanding our AirBnB was over a PUB!
Our trip started off with coffee and treats from our favorite local coffee shop in Keene, Brewbakers. If you are in this area, this coffee shop is a must. They brew their own organic, locally roasted coffee blend that is sooooo good. And you must try the almond blackberry croissants. They are unshareable.
Providence is a quaint city of narrow little one-way streets and neat brick buildings. We loved how the houses looked like they were still in the 18 hundreds. Each had a little plaque on it that reported who had lived in the house and when, making it easy to daydream back in time.
And it is full of charmingly eclectic shops of trendy handmade goodies. Oh, the thrift stores… Kitty was in heaven!! We had to stop at each one… each and EVERY one.
We found a favorite restaurant called the Duck And Bunny and ate there twice as we discovered that they put A LOT of Nutella on their chocolate banana crepes!
And then we visited RISD, of course. Their museum is a gem with a very beautiful collection of masters. I found that Pissaro had painted my farm. The one I know from my dreams… right down to the cows in the field!
Blessings and magic,
Donni
